Summary 

No matter where you work, you will likely be faced with a patient who has body modifications. Body modifications have been practiced by various cultures for thousands of years and are on the increase. Emergency professionals should have the necessary tools and training for emergency jewellery removal. This article provides emergency professionals with resources for caring for patients with body modifications.
